Community Response Training

Our community emergency response trainings are practical and skills-based courses designed for communities.  These courses focus on real-world scenarios, hub and response development, and hands-on training, ensuring that communities can safely and confidently take action when it matters most.

A practical course teaching safe chainsaw operation for emergency response. Covers NZQA Unit Standard 6917, including safe handling, maintenance, and risk mitigation. Hands-on training with expert instructors.
A practical course teaching how to help whānau and communities evacuate safely during emergencies. Covers NZQA Unit Standard 7302, including assisting vulnerable people, coordinating transport, and supporting evacuations at a community level. Ideal for community groups, councils, and volunteers.
How to establish and manage a community-led emergency hub during disasters including coordinating resources, managing welfare services, and organising volunteers.
A practical course teaching communities how to assist in road closures, guide vehicles and pedestrians, and support emergency responders during disasters. Covers NZQA Unit Standard 7332, including setting up cordons, directing traffic, and ensuring safe movement in emergencies.
A practical course teaching essential first aid skills to respond to medical emergencies. Covers NZQA Unit Standards 6401, 6402 & 6400, including CPR, AED use, wound care, and managing medical conditions.
