First EPOD for Taranaki to Strengthen Marae Resilience

In collaboration with Taranaki Civil Defence, South Taranaki District Council and the Toi Foundation, this project will see an EPOD installed at a South Taranaki marae to strengthen disaster preparedness.

FIRST72 is proud to announce that the first EPOD in Taranaki will be delivered this November.

In collaboration with Taranaki Civil Defence, South Taranaki District Council and the Toi Foundation, this project will see an EPOD installed at a South Taranaki marae to strengthen disaster preparedness. The EPOD will serve as a vital community resource in the event of future emergencies, ensuring the marae can support its people and wider community.

The project comes at an important time. Earlier this year, South Taranaki experienced severe flooding. With this EPOD in place, the marae will be equipped and have the capability to support its community during the first 72 hours of an emergency.

With delivery scheduled for November, this project represents the beginning of a wider effort to strengthen Taranaki’s resilience, marae by marae, community by community. It is a example of how strong partnerships can bring regional preparedness projects to life.
