Flooding is becoming more frequent and severe across New Zealand. From the 2023 North Island Severe Weather events to the recent Nelson/Tasman flooding, many communities are experiencing the increasing impact of extreme weather events, the pressure is on for faster, more reliable response/rescue solutions.

At FIRST72, we recognise the urgent need for high-quality, rapid deployment water rescue equipment to support councils, emergency services, and local responders across New Zealand.

Introducing DLX Water Rescue Solutions to Aotearoa

To help meet this growing demand, FIRST72 has partnered with international emergency response leaders, Deployed Logix (DLX). DLX is known worldwide for its specialised disaster response equipment, designed specifically for speed, durability, and real-world deployment in challenging conditions.

Together, we’re bringing a full suite of flood response and water rescue gear to New Zealand, now available to support civil defence, emergency management groups (CDEMs), and community response teams.

What’s Included in the DLX Water Rescue Range?

The equipment is now available through our partnership includes:

  • Inflatable rescue boats – stable, high-capacity, and quick to deploy

  • Trailers and outboard motors – mobile and easy to move across regions

  • Dry suits, life vests, and helmets – essential personal protective gear

  • Ropes, lighting, and communications – supporting full-spectrum operations

This equipment has already proven effective in major disasters globally, and now it’s ready to be deployed right here in New Zealand.

Supporting Councils, Emergency Services & Communities

Whether you’re part of a CDEM group, a FENZ team, or a community-led disaster response group, this new range is tailored to enhance New Zealand’s flood resilience.

With the ability to deploy quickly, operate in tough environments, and protect both rescuers and those in danger, this gear bridges a critical gap in our country’s emergency response toolkit.
