FIRST72 supplied bulk emergency equipment to strengthen 9 Central Hawke’s Bay District Council's community emergency hubs.

Central Hawke’s Bay District Council – Emergency Hub Equipment

In collaboration with Central Hawke’s Bay District Council and Community Resilience Manager Debbie Northe, FIRST72 delivered a comprehensive suite of emergency response equipment to strengthen the region’s civil defence community emergency hubs.

This project focused on bulk-procuring and supplying essential emergency supplies, including over 500 stretchers and 600 blankets, which we professionally vacuum-packed in-house for compact storage and rapid deployment. The kits were designed to enhance readiness across multiple hub locations and included:

Some of this equipment was also used by CHBDC in their emergency response trailers, expanding mobile response capabilities in the event of regional isolation or mass evacuation scenarios.

This partnership is a great example of how councils can efficiently bulk procure high-quality gear through FIRST72 to equip multiple community hubs while maintaining cost-effectiveness and consistency.

Together, we’re helping Central Hawke’s Bay communities stay prepared.
